Writing for the Journal
Ibron Field Notes accepts submission inquiries from writers with a background in food documentation, nutrition writing, or lifestyle journalism. Pieces should be observational in register — field notes, documented practices, long-form records — rather than instructional programmes or numbered lists of recommendations.
The journal does not accept pieces that make direct instructive claims about eating for any particular purpose. It does accept pieces that document, with care and precision, what everyday food practice looks like across days, weeks, or months of genuine attentiveness.
Writers wishing to submit should contact the editorial team via the form above, selecting "Submission Inquiry" as the subject, and provide a brief outline (150-200 words) of the proposed piece. Full manuscripts are not requested at the initial inquiry stage. Response time is typically two to three weeks during editorial hours.
Ibron Field Notes is an independent editorial journal published quarterly from London. The editorial team responds to correspondence during office hours: Monday to Friday, 10:00 to 17:00 GMT. Typical response time for general correspondence is five to seven working days.
